Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 27, 2026 | Last Updated: August 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Angela Asatrian and its affiliates (“Angela Asatrian,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit angelaasatrian.com (the “Site”), contact us, or use any of our films, publications, products, services, or communications (collectively, the “Services”). It also describes the rights and choices available to you regarding your personal information.

By accessing or using the Site or Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Site or Services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information, depending on how you interact with us:

Information you provide to us

  • Identity & contact data — name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and similar identifiers you submit through forms, calls, chats, or emails.
  • Inquiry & correspondence data — details about screenings, press or interview requests, speaking engagements, collaborations, distribution inquiries, and any correspondence with us.
  • Mailing list data — the email address and preferences you provide if you subscribe to updates about new films, releases, or events.
  • User content — messages, survey responses, comments, and any other information you choose to share.

We do not process payments on the Site. Books, films, and other merchandise linked from the Site are sold and fulfilled by third-party retailers such as Amazon, which collect payment and shipping information directly under their own privacy policies. We do not receive or store your payment card number.

Information collected automatically

  • Device & usage data — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring/exit pages, pages viewed, and timestamps.
  • Cookies & similar technologies — see Section 4.
  • Approximate location — derived from your IP address.
  • Video engagement data — when you play an embedded trailer or video, the video provider (such as Vimeo or YouTube) may collect playback and device information under its own privacy policy.

Information from third parties

  • Analytics, advertising, and social media providers; service partners; and publicly available sources, used to operate, secure, and improve our Services.
  • Social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) where you interact with our profiles or content, subject to those platforms’ own privacy settings and policies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information for the following business and commercial purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Site and Services;
  • To respond to inquiries, press and interview requests, screening and event requests, and other correspondence;
  • To send administrative, marketing, and promotional communications, including news about film releases, screenings, and publications (you may opt out at any time);
  • To personalize content and improve the performance, security, and usability of our Services;
  • To measure the performance of our advertising and outreach;
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, spam, security incidents, and unlawful activity;
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share personal information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers / processors — vendors who perform services on our behalf (website hosting, analytics, email delivery, form processing and spam prevention, advertising), bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • Advertising & analytics partners — to measure and improve marketing. Under certain state laws, the use of cross-context behavioral advertising cookies may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; see Section 5 to opt out.
  • Distribution, festival, and production partners — where you contact us about a screening, festival submission, licensing, or collaboration, and sharing your inquiry is necessary to act on it.
  • Legal & safety — when required by law, subpoena, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Angela Asatrian, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
  • With your consent — for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We and our partners use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and deliver relevant advertising. See our Cookie Policy for full details, categories, and your opt-out choices. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required by law.

5. Your Privacy Rights (U.S. State Laws)

Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the following rights under applicable U.S. state privacy laws (including, where applicable, the laws of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia):

  • Right to know / access the personal information we have collected about you;
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Right to delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
  • Right to data portability — to receive a copy in a portable format;
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted/cross-context behavioral advertising;
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information;
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights;
  • Right to appeal a denial of your request, where provided by law.

How to exercise your rights: Submit a request by email to angela@asatrianproductions.com. We will verify your identity before fulfilling your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf with proper authorization.

Because we use advertising and analytics tags (see our Cookie Policy) that several states classify as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, you may opt out at any time by enabling the Global Privacy Control in your browser, by using the browser and industry opt-out tools described in our Cookie Policy, or by emailing us at the address above.

6. California Notice (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, provides additional rights described in Section 5. In the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 1 for the purposes described in Section 2. We do not sell personal information for monetary value and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age. To exercise your California rights, contact us using the details in the Contact Us section below. You will not be discriminated against for exercising any right.

7. International & EU/UK Visitors (GDPR/UK GDPR)

Our Services are operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our legal bases for processing include your consent, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability. You may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Services, comply with our legal, accounting, or reporting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Mailing-list data is retained until you unsubscribe. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

9. How We Protect Your Information

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping any account credentials confidential.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-Party Links & Affiliate Links

The Site contains links to third-party websites and services that we do not operate or control — including retailers such as Amazon, video platforms, and social-media profiles. Some of these may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you make a purchase after following them, at no additional cost to you. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. When you follow such a link, the destination site collects and processes your information under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.

12. Film, Media & Publicity Content

Our Services include films, documentaries, trailers, stills, interviews, articles, and related media. If you appear in, contribute to, or submit material for any production or publication — including interviews, testimonials, photographs, or footage — any personal information in that material is handled under the terms of the release, agreement, or consent you provided for that project, in addition to this Policy. If you have questions about material in which you appear, or wish to discuss its use, contact us using the details below.

13. SMS/Text Messaging

If you opt in to receive text messages from us, you consent to receive transactional and/or promotional messages at the number you provide. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of any purchase.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and, where required by law, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
